Title for the Newport arrived with Friday's mail... she's mine now, it's official.
Found this still stuck to the driver's door, dated January 1967. After four years she barely had 12,000 miles on her. Also found out she was a local car, bought new in Bardstown, KY - and probably never ventured far from home by the looks of things. Forty-two years later her odometer reads a shade over 56,000.
Got the trunk cleaned out Saturday, among other things. Only surface rust here, the trunk floor is nice and solid. And yeah, those are the original trunk cards still intact. The one not visible still has the jack instruction sheet glued to it.

Plotting The Course (cont)
A couple more tidbits for the Newport in the accompanying photos; my vintage JOMA mirror (found at the 127 Yard Sale last summer for $6 ) along with a pair of old Keystone Torq Thrust lookalikes that I picked up from a HAMBer over at the Jalopy Journal.
More to come.

The Course Has Been Plotted
Scored a vintage (early 60s) Superior "500" steering wheel. Really cool red metallic vinyl rim, chromed spokes. This is gonna look badass on the Newport. More goodies on the way too.
