Been pondering the direction I want to go with the '50 Plymouth Special Deluxe 4 door lately and have been catching some inspiration from some odd places. Photos of old customs on Facebook and Google image searches. To make a long story short, I decided that I wanted a roadster. Chop the roof off, lower the windshield. Beef up the frame. Been done before. The only thing that's left to really work out is how to strengthen the center posts that support the rear doors. That puzzle has left me wondering if this really was the right direction to go.
My mind was finally made up this evening as I was watching an older Jesse James (of West Coast Choppers fame) 2 hour special on the History Channel tonight. The show ends with him and a couple buddies riding their bikes out through Big Bend, in Texas. Now, I'll never be a bike person, but seeing the open road, having the wind blowing though your hair and seeing the sky overhead just really worked for me. My mind's made up.
